Medical & General Updates

Just a note to update you all on the boys...

Jeffrey - doing fine - a sassy six year old who desperately wants a pet. His class is taking a field trip today to the pet store - Jeffrey wanted to take his wallet - Yikes! He probably would have come home with a doggie.

Brantley - also doing fine - loves pens, drawing and doing puzzles - a real blonde beauty, this one is!

Blake - doing fine, but may have to have some work done. He runs around with his mouth open and drools a lot. He may have to have his adnoids taken out, but we are waiting till after allergy season to x-ray them. He has to be sedated for the x-ray. His poor little eye is totally swollen and red, and his nose is like a faucet. This, of course, has not slowed him down in the least.

Andrew - the pediatrician says we really need to have his hearing test done since there are things they may be able to do to fix the hearing loss. We have put a call in to have this done, but there is a month waiting list. He also has to be sedated to have this done. He does hear out of one ear. He had his early intervention session yesterday, and his therapist is amazed at his head control and how well he is doing developmentally. He is smiling and trying to talk. He is holding his head better every day and is truly a delightful baby. The therapist said that if he did not have a Downs' diagnosis, she wouldn't even need to come see him since he is doing so well. We are so thrilled with his growth and development!

So, all in all, good news. I am not thrilled about 50% of my kids needing to be sedated to have tests done, but I am thinking of asking the doctor to sedate ME and then the kids. Just wake me up when it is all over!

Please pray for Blake & Andrew - that we would have good test results for both and that they tolerate the sedation without any complications.
Please pray for me - I am heading back to the doctor on Monday to see if I can go off my blood pressure medicine. I have been feeling really good, so hopefully they can wean me off the meds.

Thanks for you prayers and love to all!
