So enough about barfing, sneezing and eye goop - although we have had plenty of all to go around. There are days that it is just plain fun to have a house full of boys. My (our) boys are so close in age that I don't think they have figured out yet that they aren't supposed to like each other. Sure Brantley fights Blake for toys, and Jeffrey gets irritated when they bust up his lego ships, but the men around here have been sticking together lately.
Take swim lessons. Now, I know the critters need to learn to swim. The pool is almost done. We are installing so much safety gear that I wonder if we will be able to access the pool in less than an hour. But, each day for the past 2 weeks we have been going to swim lessons. Jeffrey loves them, but Blake and Brantley HATE them. They cry the whole time they are being worked with. They wail for me to rescue them. When that doesn't work, they wail for Kara to rescue them. The cute part is that they cheer for each other. Blake was sitting with me on the steps waiting for his turn at torture. Brantley starts monkey walking along the edge to the steps. Blake cheers, "go B-antly, go!." Brantley, tears streaming down his face, looks over at Blake and smiles. Brothers have to stick together. They cheer for Jeffrey when he jumps in, and they cheer for Andrew when he rolls over. I think they would make excellent marines.
Tonight in the tub, the twins were displaying their new floating skills. I, quite frankly, was surprised they had aquired any swimming skills at all. I thought they spent all of swim lessons being ticked and scared. They were very cute laying next to each other. Just the sight of each other caused them to giggle. Sometimes twins are soooo much fun. They lay on the sofa together and watch TV. They lay next to Andrew on the floor and make faces at him. They idolize Jeffrey and their Daddy is their all time favorite. Each month they get easier to handle and they are learing to somewhat (and sometimes) behave.
The three big boys got hair cuts this week, and they all look older and cuter. So when we aren't cleaing up barf and wiping noses, we are starting to have a pretty good time around here!
